When it comes to surface pattern design, choosing the right designer isn’t just about finding artwork that looks beautiful, it's about ensuring the designs are production-ready, formatted correctly, and meet industry standards.

Whether you're a brand, manufacturer, or product designer, working with someone who understands the technical side of design can save you time, money, and a whole lot of frustration.

I am dedicated to making sure all my clients receive the best experience, print ready files and the highest standards throughout.

Here's why it matters...

The designer working on a tablet, using a stylus to create a digital pattern featuring overlapping white circles in varied transparency over a purple background. The tablet is propped on a supportive bean bag cushion, and the designer, wearing a yellow floral top, is seated in a cozy space with a plush grey pillow in the background.

Seamless Production & Print-Ready Files

Nothing slows down a project like receiving a gorgeous pattern that isn’t formatted correctly. Whether it's incorrect repeats, layers not labeled and organised or incorrect colour profiles, receiving files that aren't ready for use adds time and complication to your process... or worst case scenario can result in print mistakes. Working with a designer who understands file requirements, resolution, and colour profiles means your designs will be print-ready from day one.

What should you expect in print ready files?

1. Correct formats:

AI, PSD, JPEG

2. Proper colour modes:

CMYK or RGB, Pantone spot colours

3. Well-organised layers:

Easy for manufacturers to work with

4. Perfectly seamless repeats:

No awkward gaps, white lines or misalignments

With well prepared Adobe design files, your production team can jump straight into manufacturing without costly edits or delays.

Faster Turnaround & Meeting Deadlines

Between busy schedules and working to produce new ranges for seasonal trends, art directors and manufacturers often work on tight schedules, so last-minute fixes and changes to design files can cause major headaches.

As a designer who understands industry standards and has a full design education, I make sure you receive:

●     Files delivered in the correct format

●      Quick adjustments without back-and-forth emails

●     A streamlined process that keeps projects on track, even with tight deadlines

If you’ve ever had to send a file back multiple times because something wasn’t quite right, you’ll know just how valuable this is!

Technical Expertise: More than just a pretty pattern

As a surface pattern designer who cares about the end product, it's about more than create beautiful artwork. It's also about understand how it will be used across different materials, printing methods and product applications.

This means considering the following:

1. Scale & Proportion:

Ensuring patterns look good whether printed on fabric, wallpaper, or ceramics.

2. Colour Accuracy:

Choosing colours that print true to the original design.

3. Print Considerations:

Adjusting or being able to advise best patterns for different printing methods like screen printing, digital printing etc.

With this level of expertise, I know I can help ensure your final product looks as beautiful as the initial design.

Flexibility: Licensing, Commissions & Custom Work

Every brand is different, with individual needs which is why it's so important to provide a custom experience that's still quick, easy and hassle free.

This is why I offer three main ways of working with me:

1. License an existing design

Choose from my available patterns and purchase a licence for your industry use or territory specific licence. This is a really cost effective solution for brands looking for a level of exclusivity without requiring full exclusivity.

2. Full buyout licence

Purchase a licence with transferred rights to the design. This option gives an amazing level of flexibility and exclusivity, giving you full control of the design as well as option to manipulate and utilise the design to fit your vision in any ways you wish.

3. Commission a custom design

Work with me to create something unique for your brand. This is such a creative option, allowing us to work closely together to bring all your ideas to life before your eyes.

With three different options, we can always find the best solution for your brand's needs and budget.

A set of green Faber-Castell pencils is neatly arranged in an open tin beside the sketchbook. A watercolour palette with vibrant colours and a separate sheet of blue and green watercolour swatches are also visible on the desk.
